Job type

Full time

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help us build and scale modern data infrastructure while also delivering insights through hands-on analytics and data storytelling. You’ll work across the full data lifecycle—from ingestion and transformation to analysis and visualization—helping us unlock value from data across cloud-native systems, real-time applications, and machine learning workflows.

Diese Position verbindet fundierte technische Grundlagen mit analytischer Intuition und ist ideal für jemanden, der Datenpipelines von Anfang bis Ende verantworten und gleichzeitig umsetzbare Business Intelligence liefern möchte.

Your main tasks

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines in batch and real-time environments (e.g., ETL/ELT, streaming, CDC).

  • Lead the implementation of data lakehouse architectures and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks).

  • Collaborate with analysts, product teams, and ML engineers to deliver clean, well-modeled datasets.

  • Promote data quality, observability, and governance across all data tiers.

  • Create and deliver interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

  • Write high-performance, production-ready SQL scripts and build data marts optimized for self-service analytics.

  • Proactively identify data gaps, propose schema changes, and implement monitoring measures for data timeliness and reliability.

  • Cross-functional collaboration to support AI/ML model development with clean, annotated, and reproducible data sets

  • Participation in architecture decisions and promotion of best practices in data engineering and analytics

Technical skills and qualifications

  • At least 5 years of practical experience in data engineering, ideally in fast-paced product or platform teams

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling (Star/Snowflake), warehousing, and cloud-native architectures

  • Proven experience with tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Spark, or Flink

  • Proficiency in Python (preferred) or Scala for data transformation and scripting

  • Experience with data visualization and creating self-service reporting solutions with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools

  • Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps practices, including CI/CD for data pipelines, version control, and IaC

  • In-depth knowledge of data protection, security, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, handling of personal data)

  • Confident in dealing with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions

  • Excellent communication skills in English and German

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses

  • Opportunities for professional development and training

  • Cooperative and innovative work environment

  • Insight into a variety of industries and projects

  • Flexible working conditions

  • Chance to be part of a success story
